Hello all!
Either you’re here on purpose or you’re here because you somehow stumbled upon this site. No matter how you got here, welcome! I’m glad to have you!
Now for a brief introduction: My name is Marisa. I am currently 24 years old and I live in the greater Boston area. I am a graduate of Tufts University, a member of the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII), and I’d like to think that I’m a Disney princess in disguise.
I like to refer to myself as a schmoozing Jew. You may ask why, though the answer is a bit self-explanatory. I am a member of the Tribe and I love to schmooze (that’s Yiddish for “hang out” amongst other definitions). I have toyed around with food blogs in the past, but each attempt has fizzled out because there’s far more going on in my life than just food. I love to cook. I love going to restaurants. I love spending time with friends. And while I do not host many parties, I love thinking about different themes for parties or just general fun DIYs to make for no reason whatsoever. And from those interests blossomed the idea for The Schmoozing Jew.
Here on this site you will find a few different categories. In “Nosh for your Schmooze,” you will find food and drink recipes. In “Kibitz and Schmooze,” you’ll find reviews of different restaurants and other places to hang out. Most of these will be in the greater Boston area, but there will be a few posts about different places I’ve travelled. In “Host a Schmooze,” you’ll find tips for party planning, themes, and menu ideas. And in “Improve your Schmooze,” you’ll find crafts, products you could buy, fun lists, rankings, and more. Basically, this category is anything else I think a schmoozing Jew could possibly need to know.
That’s all for now! Schmooze on 🙂
